Quantitative Methods II - Spring 2013

The purpose of this course is to provide doctoral students with an introduction to various research methods, and their  corresponding data analysis/statistical procedures, used for conducting empirical research in education and procedures used for conducting empirical research in education and social sciences. These methods include experimental and quasi-experimental designs, bivariate and multivariate correlation/regression, survey analysis or sample survey research, and historical methodology. Appropriate statistical analysis associated with each research method will be discussed and SPSS assignments included. In addition, an introduction to measurement and measurement theory will be provided with major emphasis on the techniques and procedures used in the social sciences for developing adequate instrumentation and questionnaires. This is the second course in the Quantitative methods sequence designed to help students in conducting their own research necessary for completing the dissertation.
