The purpose of this course is to provide doctoral students with an overview of basic research methods, both quantitative and qualitative. The course will also provide a basic introduction to corresponding data analysis procedures for conducting research in the social sciences. Further, the course will provide a context for research methods by applying them to potential research problems that are of interest to students. This course is a prerequisite for more advanced courses in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
